The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into force on May 2018. There is less than a year for all companies to comply and the fines for non-compliance are very high, up to 20 million or 4% of global revenue.

Two elements are essential to ensure compliance: choosing the right cloud provider and the correct implementation of your chosen solution. Box offers a certified service which helps customers in various industries towards becoming GDPR compliant. This presentation will outline the GDPR requirements and the most important changes compared to the existing legislation. In addition an introduction into Box compliance features such as Binding Corporate Rules (as Processor), German and International Security and Privacy Certifications will be provided. Finishing with an overview of the implementation validation program and complimentary Box solutions such as Box Zones and Box KeySafe.

In this session I will explain how to integrate IBM Docs with Box. I will detail all the steps needed and show the results of the integration.

IBM Connections 6 ist seit Ende März 2017 verfügbar und bringt neben diversen Erweiterungen auch einen vollständig neuen Technologie-Stack mit. Die von Connections "Orient Me" verwendeten Komponenten basieren auf Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB und vielen anderen Technologien, die für den klassischen WebSphere-Administrator neu sind.

Der Vortrag beschreibt erste Erfahrungen mit Installation und Betrieb und beantwortet Fragen zu Architektur, Zusammenspiel der einzelnen Komponenten sowie Best Practices.

IndustryConnect ist ein Kollaborationsprojekt von 22 IBM Connections Anwenderunternehmen unter der Moderation des Center for Enterprise Collaboration Systems Research (CEIR.de) der Universität Koblenz-Landau und adressiert aktuelle Probleme sowie Fragestellungen der computergestützten Zusammenarbeit am Digital Workplace. Das Projekt dient dem Erfahrungsaustausch zwischen den Anwenderunternehmen. Die partizipierenden Wissenschaftler bearbeiten die Fokusthemen und stellen Ergebnisse in der Form von Dokumenten, Methoden, Techniken und Guidelines den Teilnehmern zur Verfügung. Im Rahmen des Vortrags soll ein Überblick zu ausgewählten Forschungsergebnissen des letzten Jahres gegeben werden, indem auf die aktuellen Erkenntnisse aus den Themengebieten Benefits Realisation Management von Enterprise Collaboration Systems, Social Business Documents, Social Business Objects sowie Social Collaboration Analytics eingegangen wird.

Als Bonus werden die Ergebnisse aus einer Langzeitstudie des University Competence Center for Collaboration Technologies (UCT.de) über die Nutzung der Studierenden mit Enterprise Collaboration Systems in einem Zeitraum von vier Jahren vorgestellt. Die Forschungsergebnisse basieren auf Umfragen sowie auf Datenbankanalysen von IBM Connections, die mittels eigener SQL-Statements durchgeführt wurden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, inwieweit sich die Vorerfahrung der Studierenden in diesem Bereich veränderte, welche Erwartungen sie bzgl. der Nutzung von IBM Connection haben, welche Module sie bevorzugt einsetzen und ob sie IBM Connections nach ihrem Studium im Beruf einsetzen würden.
